The Issue with Hotel Blocks…

Unfortunately, there are no “hotel blocks” in Barcelona like we have in the U.S.A. Even if we were having our wedding at a local hotel within the city, they would not be able to accommodate all of our guests. On the bright side, this gives our guests more flexibility about where they would like to stay during their trip!

Parts of Barcelona we Recommend

We personally love the L’Eixample neighborhood as it is a great mix of both locals and tourists. It is not too loud or crowded, yet situated near many of the main attractions of the city such as: Casa BatllóLa Pedrera (Casa Milà), and Plaça de Catalunya. It is also near the main shopping district along Passeig de Gràcia that has stores such as Burberry, Zara, Adidas, Guess and more!

We also love the El Born neighborhood for its medieval streets, boutiques, various cafes and other holes in the wall eateries, but most importantly it is close to La Barceloneta! This is the seaside neighborhood that includes the marina where you can enjoy the views of yachts and the sea. You can always stay in La Barceloneta should you choose, it just tends to be a little more pricy compared to other parts. We also love El Born for its proximity to the Picasso Museum and the beautiful Parc de la Ciutadella that has a with zoo, boating lake, ornate museums and lush walking trails.

What about staying on La Ramblas?

If you Google places to stay or see in Barcelona, you probably have heard of La Ramblas boulevard. It is an iconic street in the heart of Barcelona with lots of food and attractions, and home to the famous La Boqueria market. The main reasons I would not personally stay on that street is because it is crowded, louder, and more expensive compared to other parts since it is famous. Since it is crowded, I would also make sure you take actions to avoid being pickpocketed here since it is very crowded.

Hotel Recommendations

We want you to stay wherever your heart desires and what meets your needs. The recommendations are not an exhaustive list of all the accommodations available in the city and we still urge you to do your own research to find the best fit for you.

The transportation for the wedding is likely to pick up and drop off at a set location in the city. We are hoping to set it at a central location for all guests when the time comes. That being said, if we find that a majority of guests are staying in a particular area, we will ask for it to be there, etc. If we are able to set up two drop-off/pick-up locations we will also let you all know!
